Easter experience
The intended end becomes the beginning
His story should have ended with his crucifixion at Golgotha.Anyone ended up on a Roman cross was clearly a fails Messiah. No matter how impressive his moral teaching or spiritual power he had displayed in his life, clearly, the shameful death in Jerusalem was esteemed to display failure. As such Jesus of Nazareth should by rights never entered our historical books. This Good Friday should have closed his chapter.
But it didn’t. According to the Gospel writers and his followers, the story was about to start again and start more powerfully than it had closed three days ago. Thus the resurrection of Jesus remains as the most momentous event that has occurred in history.
